Coming without a car

The nearest SNCF station is in La Rochelle, accessible by direct LGV from Bordeaux, Nantes and Paris; Regional coaches 3 and 3E run from La Rochelle to Loix in 1 hour 40 minutes (Château d’Eau stop); Check timetables on iledere.com. Then walk through the village of Loix to reach the campsite in 20 minutes;

Arriving by car

Enter our address in your GPS: Le Petit Boucheau, Route du Grouin – 17111 LOIX; There is a charge for crossing the Ile de Ré bridge.

Choose to carpool with Mobicoop, with no service charge.

On the island, use Rezo Pouce, a safe and popular hitchhiking network. Why not give it a go and answer the call to hitchhike and take part in shared mobility?

Getting around the island without a car

From the campsite, it’s a short walk to the main sights of Loix: the village centre, Loix-Plage, the harbour and the Pointe du Grouin; The Ile de Ré is ideal for cycling, with the beaches and town centre of Loix just 5 minutes away, La Couarde-sur-Mer 20 minutes, and Saint-Martin-de-Ré and Ars-en-Ré 30 minutes away. Hire your bike at the campsite (booking recommended).

Use the free RespiRé shuttles and buses to explore the island. Rezo Pouce offers secure hitchhiking areas so you can give your thumbs up in complete safety!

    Practical information

    Our campsite measures nearly 4.5 hectares with 214 pitches in total, divided into 165 rentals and 49 camping pitches (these quantities may change without notice)

    Our campsite is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

    Our reception team speaks French, English and Spanish.

    Dogs welcome under conditions. Contact the campsite for more information.

    Opening hours for campsite and services

    You can use our campsite from April to September inclusive, i.e. from 1 April to 2 October 2022. During this period, take advantage of the services available on site: reception, sanitary facilities, tennis court, children’s playground, bicycle hire, planchas, sheets and towels. The aquatic area and the restaurant are open from 23 April to 2 October 2022 and the grocery shop from 18 June to 17 September 2022 (dates subject to change without notice).

    The reception is open throughout the season at the following times (indicative, subject to change):

    Low season: 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
    High season: 8.30am-8pm

    Are you due to arrive after reception closing hours? Don’t worry, Aux Ilates has thought of everything! Let our reception staff know your arrival time. We’ll send you all the information you need for your late arrival by e-mail or telephone: where to pick up your key or badge, campsite map, service timetables and restaurant menu.

    Here are our arrival/departure times for your camping stay in Loix:

    • rental stay: arrival after 4 p.m. and departure before 10 a.m.
    • Bare pitch stay: after 3 p.m. and departure before 12 a.m.

    Security and bonding

    At Les Ilates, the peace of mind of all is paramount. Therefore, our entrance and exit gates are unavailable at night and are accessible by badge from 7am to 11pm. For holidaymakers arriving at the campsite after hours, parking spaces are available around the campsite. Pedestrian and bicycle access to the campsite is available 24 hours a day, near the gates.

    In addition, our campsite is guarded at night in summer. Our security guard makes several rounds and ensures that the internal regulations are respected and that holidaymakers remain completely silent. In the event of an incident or noise disturbance, you can report it to the security guard or contact an emergency number which will be given to you on arrival.

    On arrival, we require a deposit for the entry badge, regardless of the length of your stay:

    A systematic control at the end of the stay is carried out by our team for rented accommodation. Sign up for the schedule of exit inspections and prepare for the end of your stay with peace of mind. The inventory of fixtures at the beginning of your stay is not carried out at Ilates, as it is done by our hygiene team beforehand.
